Message from the President

Welcome to the Special Libraries Association (SLA) student chapter at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG)!

Since 1910, the SLA has aimed to support their librarian and information professional members in special settings through learning, advocacy, and networking initiatives.

To complement this aim, the SLA chapter at UNC Greensboro (SLA-UNCG) provides students in a primarily online environment with exploration, networking, and job and career development opportunities in special libraries. SLA-UNCG fosters its relationship with SLA and promotes professional conversation, knowledge, and the growth and development of leadership skills for the benefit of students, libraries, and other educational organizations.

Activities sponsored by the organization may include but are not limited to:

-guest lectures and presentations on issues

       of interest

      -library tours (virtual and physical)

      -career exploration opportunities

       social events

SLA-UNCG welcomes all members, free of any fees or dues. However, students are encouraged to join SLA, which they can do at Join SLA

Thank you for your interest in SLA-UNCG, and we hope to interact with you soon!

William Bryan Nicholls

President, SLA-UNCG
